HTC’s Hero Handset Powered by Android

HTC’s Hero AndroidGoogle’s Android mobile operating system finally showed its hand as a serious competitor to the iPhone today.

At a press event in London, HTC unveiled its new Hero handset powered Android. HTC android has sleek good looks with extreme power.

Its main features are, and auto focus camera of 5.0 mega pixel, AssistedGPS, digitally powered compass , gravity sensor , 3.5mm stereo headset jack and MicroSD memory that is expandable, where as the hardware is best as that of old Android handsets. To make it stay clean it’s coated with Teflon.

Well you can say that it’s the Android evolution.

The First Ever Android handset that supports Adobe Flash. This feature makes it outstanding against iPhone and completes the necessity for web browsing. With Android and Adobe Flash Android developers don’t to have to use work-around alternatives -- Flash here is the main deal.

Then there is HTC’s new and awesome user interface. The HTC Sense UI gives the OS a completely new look by placing on top of Android, more levels of personalization through widgets live-updating on the homescreen, similar to the homescreen widgets on Nokia’s N97. This means you can enjoy Twitter feed running on your homescreen along with a mini email inbox, showing the up to date data. Customizable location-aware clock is also to be included in other personalization.

It’s really slim. Currently many smart phones mobile already have the Flash feature and other widget stuff– while HTC’s TouchFlo for Windows Mobile TC has been doing the same thing. But announcement of HTC’s Android is to demonstrate that Android is making its way towards the strongest iPhone competitor on the market.

The HTC Hero is currently available in the UK on the Orange and T-Mobile networks, as well as other parts of Europe, from next month. Launches in Asia and the USA will follow later in the year.

  1. virtual keyboard and the learning software, not too impressed, I think my old Samsung Instinct's virtual keyboard was better. I have to type in landscape mode to be some what efficient.
